Deco supports creativity and believes in smart design. It selects the best projects and realizes them respecting its own values.
Mario Ferrarini was born in Como in 1978. He graduated in Industrial Design in Milan Polytechnic. Since 2004 he started to give consultings to preeminent International design and architecture studios about product development, trade show mounting, interior design. In 2004 he also received various awards during the "idee per la luce" (Ideas for lighting) contest at Cristalplant Design Contest featuring Antonio Lupi. He besides took part to other events and exhibitions. Since 2006 he realized products for diverse firms such as Antonio Lupi, Emmemobili, Nube Italia, Bitossi Ceramiche and Jacuzzi and, moreover, continued his activity as interior designer and trade show mounting designer. He also worked as a freelance for some design magazines. He has a pragmatic and visionary approach, theatrical and discrete at the same time; all his creations reveals a meticolous research both in the design field itself and in designing for every company a tailored and brand / marketing oriented product. Every object has a different story where the thought and action planning uncertanties should always translate in ideas that are not aimed at themselves but to a market that the brand is already covering and wants to deepen and diversify or that it wants to push toward new borders. Mario Ferrarini's attempt is always to launch easily perceivable messages through his products, an intrisic value added that becomes a provoked emotion, a reflection or a smart solution purely functional but innovative at the same time.
Deco is an evolving company that has really clear ideas about its market positioning and about the distinctive peculiarities of its products, a characteristic so hard to find in an "X" sofa company. The idea of taking part to a start-up project with other young designer friends seemed to me interesting at once for the sharing of everybody's experiences, working closely with a young enterpreneur that wants to build pieces of furniture with passion in a historical context where few people show his unconditional courage.
